Good to know
Pay in rupees, in cash at most ticket counters. Bhaktapur also accepts dollars. Bring small notes.
Keep your tickets: they are checked at several entrances and sometimes in the lanes, especially in Kathmandu and Bhaktapur.
South Asian (SAARC) countries and China: reduced rates on presentation of your passport. Nepalis get in free almost everywhere.
Prices change often, sometimes without notice. The rate shown at the counter is what counts; if you notice a change, write to us.
You get your visa on arrival, at Kathmandu airport or at the border: form, fees and pitfalls to avoid on our dedicated site.
