October 2026 was Nepal's busiest month of the year

132,814 foreign visitors arrived in Nepal in October, 3.4% more than in October 2025. If you are travelling in November, book domestic flights early, and your nights on the busiest treks too.

According to the Nepal Tourism Board, 132,814 foreign visitors entered Nepal in October 2026, up from 128,443 a year earlier. That makes it the busiest month of the year so far. The United States came first with 17,437 visitors, followed by India, China, the United Kingdom and Australia.

November is peak season too. If you are travelling in the coming weeks:

  • Lukla flights fill up in peak season: book as soon as your dates are set, and keep a spare day or two at the end, because weather delays are common;
  • on the busiest treks (Everest Base Camp, the Annapurnas), lodges can be full by evening: set off early, or let your guide book ahead.
